WordPress from Beginners to Advanced is a talk I did for the Boise Web Technologies Group Meetup in March of 2013.
The presentation was initially released to the Meetup attendees, but now it’s published to the web.
Link to full page presentation is here, and it is embedded here:
WordPress from Beginners to Advanced is also available as PDF file to download.
Apparently many people were interested in this talk, and there was a rumor that it broke the attendance record for talk at the group. Here is a photo that Patrick, the organizer, took:

“I’m waiting for the first Purple Heart for tendonitis” in comments is awesome: Pentagon to Start Awarding Medals for Drone Strikes and Cyberattacks http://t.co/3esta4NZ
The Associated Press says the Pentagon is creating a new ribbon, called the Distinguished Warfare Medal that will be given for “extra achievement” related to a military operation. That would include drone pilots operating unmanned planes from halfway around the world, or even hackers who launch a successful cyberattack on an enemy. Unlike all other combat-related medals, this would be the first one that you can be awarded without actually putting your life on the line.

A popular video showing off a 3D-printed automatic rifle magazine was removed Friday “as a violation of YouTube’s policy against spam, scams, and commercially deceptive content.”The video featured the “Cuomo” 30-round magazine developed by Defense Distributed, a Texas-based initiative run by 24-year-old Cody Wilson. It quickly went viral after Defense Distributed posted it this week.
Video is back online, here you go: 3D printed magazine. Real demonstration:

Instagram, the mobile photo app, has now introduced a web feed. The Instagram web feed is very similar to the mobile feed. “as of today, you can now browse your Instagram feed on the web – just like you do on your mobile device. Go to instagram.com and log in to your account to give it a try.”
One commentator on Hacker News said: It is definitely nice to be able to see Instagram photos at their full resolution on the bigger screen. Sometimes I forget that my phone camera is actually taking pictures with a fairly decent resolution. I do notice that some pictures which appeared nice and clear on my phone are actually more grainy than I thought when I see them on my computer screen at actual size.
Nathan Kontny create Draft. Draft is a distraction free editor that auto-saves as you type. But as you go along, you can mark major versions of your work. I’ve submitted for an invite, will post more once I test it out.

A mind map is a diagram used to visually outline information. A mind map is often created around a single word or text, placed in the center, to which associated ideas, words and concepts are added. Major categories radiate from a central node, and lesser categories are sub-branches of larger branches. Categories can represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items related to a central key word or idea. (description from Wikipedia)
