Review: Mindset: The New Psychology of Success
Posted on April 25th, 2007 • Filed under Personality, Psychology • No Comments
Last week I had a chance to read Mindset: The New Psychology Of Success, based on some recommendation that I read online (that now I can’t recall).
What I liked about the book:
- It’s based on science. There’s actual research and science behind this book.
- Fairly easy to read. With many examples from different areas and industries and people.
What I didn’t like about the book:
- I’ve read/studied this subject matter before in my Personality class, so it wasn’t all new material.
- It’s a little too redundant in some areas, but maybe that’s good for people who have never read on the subject.
Overall I would recommend this book to people that are not psychology majors. 4/5 Stars.
Robie Creek Results

This was the a horrible run/walk. I was sick pretty much for the entire week and the previous week we did the same route, this made the run pretty difficult. Because I really wanted to participate in the race I didn’t drop it, and I’m glad that I didn’t. The crowd was great and the volunteers were awesome too. Next year I’d like to repeat it.

Tomorrow is the Robie Creek Half Marathon. This is the toughest half marathon in the northwest. Last Saturday I mostly ran the entire length of it in aprx. 2:35. So my goal is to this time, maybe come in closer to the the 2 hour mark. The wear and tear on the body is painful, but now I know what to expect. I ran the 5 mile up/5 mile down for several Saturdays before that for practice.
Robie Creek, here we go. From what I hear, it’ll be a blast, around 2500 people are running it.

Seth pointed out a story in the Washington Post that show different mass social psychology is from personal psychology.
Makes you wonder how you would act?
I would have walked passed too.
